Brutal Murder in Mar del Plata Sparks Public Outrage

A 30-year-old man was beaten to death outside a nightclub in Batán. Witnesses accuse police of inaction as the investigation unfolds, sparking a national debate on violence and public safety.

A brutal crime that shocked Mar del Plata occurred in the early hours of Sunday outside a nightclub in the Batán area, where a 30-year-old man, Lucas Nahuel Larroque, was beaten to death. Witnesses and family members highlighted the brutality of the attack, which they claim occurred without an immediate and effective response from police officers in a nearby patrol car. The case has been classified as aggravated homicide with extreme cruelty, as the perpetrator took advantage of the victim's defenselessness. The victim's widow stated that the police "were in the patrol car without acting" while her husband was being attacked, an accusation that will be analyzed by the justice system. According to the official reconstruction, Larroque approached the exit of a nightclub to mediate a dispute between women. He was then attacked by an 18-year-old, who first struck him, knocking him down, and then delivered at least two kicks to the head while the victim was on the floor, completely helpless. The autopsy confirmed Larroque died of cardiac arrest caused by the blows to the head, leading to a severe brain injury. The 18-year-old suspect is in custody and will be questioned in the coming hours.
